To offer aspiring Diamond Graduate students an insider’s perspective into this dazzling industry, J K Diamonds Institute of Gems & Jewelry organised a two day study tour to Surat, also known as the ‘Diamond City’. Scheduled for April 26th and 27th, 2024, this tour was set to provide an immersive experience for students.
Kicking off on April 26th, 2024, the tour commenced with a captivating visit to the “Kisna Jewelry Manufacturing Factory”, a retail extension of Hari Krishna Exports. Here, students were offered a unique opportunity to witness the intricacies of diamond jewelry manufacturing firsthand. From the meticulous craft of diamond setting to the refinement of jewelry design, they gained extremely useful insights into the entire process. Additionally, they explored the HK Hub, observing the real-time transformation of rough diamonds into polished ones, along with the cutting and polishing procedures involved.
The following day, April 27th, 2024, saw students embarking on another enthralling expedition, this time to the “Lexus Softmac” company. Here, they got to witness and explore the technological advancements tailored specifically for diamond professionals. It was an exclusive chance to witness cutting-edge technology driving the industry forward, enhancing efficiency and precision.
Wrapping up the day was a lively question-and-answer session with the institute’s esteemed faculty, lasting two to three hours. This interactive discussion provided a platform for students to clarify doubts, exchange ideas, and deepen their practical understanding of the diamond trade.
