Jewelry Designing students of JK Diamonds Institute visited the Prince of Wales museum. The museum is at prime beauty throughout the year.
Students visited the museum at MG road of South Mumbai to gain knowledge and inspiration from historically preserved treasures. The building is in Indo-Saracenic architecture. The museum has artifacts from Indus Valley civilization, Mauryas, Guptas, Chalukya and other reigns.
The interior of the building is built in 18th century style. Designers derived inspiration from Art collection of Ratan Tata, Indian paintings, 11th century palm leaf manuscripts, Sultanate period painting, 17th century manuscript of Ramayana, Ivory collection of Gupta era, Mughal jades, European paintings, Japanese Porcelain, Metal ware, Armor of Akbar, etc.
The Students of JK were exposed to vast amounts of inspirational sources including weapons and artifacts from the Indus Valley Civilization, Gupta Period and 750 BC statues. that were retrieved from the Elephanta Caves. On being inspired, the designer students couldn’t hold themselves back from creating exceptional jewelry designs.
