To bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience, J K Diamonds Institute of Gems & Jewelry organized an enriching Surat Study Tour on 28th and 29th March 2025 for its Polished Diamonds, CAD, and Manual Jewelry Design students.
Day 1: Immersive Industry Exposure Begins
The tour kicked off in the early hours of 28th March, with students departing from Bandra Terminus, to reach Surat — as they were getting ready to dive into the heart of India’s diamond city.
10:00 AM – HK Kisna Jewelry Manufacturing Factory Visit
The first stop was the HK Kisna manufacturing unit, where students were warmly guided by Mr. Rushabh Singh. They got a first-hand look at the intricate processes that transform creative designs into stunning finished jewelry pieces.
2:00 PM – Jaykar Group: Rough to Polished Diamond Process
Next, at Jaykar Group, students experienced the complete journey of a diamond—from its rough form to the final polished gem. Under the insightful mentorship of Mr. Heet Bhai, students not only deepened their understanding of the trade but were also awarded certificates for their participation.
Day 2: Deep Dive into Polishing & Lab-Grown Innovation
10:00 AM – HK Hub: Diamond Polishing Factory Visit
The morning of 29th March started with a visit to HK Hub, a well-known diamond polishing unit. With expert guidance from Mr. Naresh Bhai, students observed the precision and skill required in the polishing process, enhancing their technical understanding.
2:00 PM – Lexus SoftMac: Lab-Grown Diamond Factory Visit
In the afternoon, students explored the future of the diamond industry at Lexus SoftMac, a premier lab-grown diamond facility. Led by Mr. Huzefa, the tour gave students an exclusive behind-the-scenes view of how technology is transforming carbon into exquisite diamonds. This eye-opening experience showcased the innovation and sustainability driving the lab-grown diamond sector.
🛤 Back to Mumbai: A Journey to Remember
After two days of action-packed real world insights, students of J K Diamonds Institute departed from Surat on 29th March 2025 and reached Mumbai, marking the end of a successful and insightful Surat Study Tour.
